Our first match against Sutton and Cheam was neck and neck for the first two quarters (2-2 and 4-4). But in the third we started to push ahead (9-7) and were more attacking in the final quarter to win with a clear margin, 14-9. Next up was Beckenham and this match also started as a balanced affair with Penguin having the slight advantage at the end of the first quarter (4-3). But we dominated for the rest of the match, increasing our lead through the rest of the game to a decisive win (8-4, 13-8, 17-9). Elsewhere, Penguin Masters swimmer Ruth had a 30th birthday to remember when boyfriend David proposed and she accepted. Wedding date is still to be decided, but probably May next year. Congratulations to both couples. |
